Description

Second last in my short lived pre/post series. This image came together very quickly with what I learned while making Guyver Inferno. In fact, this image had practically identical beginnings. A great (and free) model and a re-textured sky dome. I soon realised however that one Storm Trooper simply wasn't enough. The two background Troopers were added later, which was a royal pain to layer in CS. Top - Raw Poser 6 render Bottom - Final image with Post work in CS Comments and crits welcomed. My next (and final) pre/post upload will be for my Yakuza Property image.

Render your characters alone on a blue background (you can do two renders, one with the regular background and one with the blank background, just "hide" the other stuff or slip in a 2d screen). Even if you end up not using the blanks, there are a couple of times where having the lone figure on a file you can "lift" it off of is a lifesaver. (Clients sometimes change their minds about layout, darn them;-) This is cool to see how you changed it, and the final image is very effective. Great atmosphere!

Thank you for the excellent advice lwperkins. I can see this being an absolute life saver in future images. It's things like this that can save a huge amount of time, which can only be a good thing.
