Description

I know there not food here on the table. I do have photos of people getting food but that with the fime camera. I did not have time to scan the film yet. I posting this mainly because of the lighting set up. There is three lamps with light bulbs that is lighting up the castle in the back ground. Then there is candle light in the forground. I like this way of lighting. May be usefor in the future to shot models poseing in surreal images. Maybe other super great photo people use this type of lighting I do not know. If anyone knows please tell me so I can check out the photo person work. I got so much to learn of art. But what is bad about learning is the more you learn the more you see you know nothing. thanks for looking and commenting ps. this was taken with a digital camera. look on the rigth corner to tell the imformation

This lighting is really interesting. It makes it almost seem like two different places. Nice one!

Dear Jock, The backlighting looks really nice. It serves to define the "edges" of the folks and bring them out - which would be lost with just the candlelight. I don't know of an example right off hand, but people do use it at times and I agree with you that it is very effective!! While I looked at this, I thought of something that a photographer friend does that makes for some different sorts of images that you might enjoy trying. I know how much you love to experiment. Anyway, he sets the camera up on a tripod in a dark spot - outside on a dark moonless night for example - and then locks the shutter open for maybe 30 seconds or a minute. Then he takes a flashlight and "paints" over things like trees or people or whatever to illuminate them. It produces some really wild looking stuff! You could try it with a couple of flashlights in different color or maybe even a laser pointer to "write" things on a backdrop - maybe a building or something. It takes a bit of experimentation but the results are often very unexpected!! Just a thought I had!!!! Really pretty photograph and the candles and backlighting really create a romatic look perfect for a wedding!!!!! Love ya!!! Meredith

It's true; the more you learn, the more you realize there is to know, but that's the Good thing about learning - you never come to the end! Great shot here, Jock! A silhouette dinner.

Superb capture, Jocko, with great lighting effects, especially the silhouetting and the candles. I know it's a wedding, but the photo could easily be mistaken for some mysterious cult members wearing hoods sitting down at dinner.

Unusual mix of background objects and table lighting. Thought it was going to be a fake medieval banquet at first. Thanks for the surprise! ;-)
