Hmmm... go figure! I thought it would of been just black. This is pretty freaky stuff, the colors are amazing. A pair of eyes staring back wouldn't surprise me, it looks scarey in there. Superb capture!

My God, that is wicked!!!!! But why is it still red? I've always thought the lava darkened when it hardened and dried? Really cool shot, a bit spooky. :)

Maria...Most of the lava fields will harden into blackish/grayish basalt rocks. Lava will also come in different colors (reddish/brownish/yellowish) depending on its composition. Hope I have answered it correctly. Aloha
