Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. I'm enjoying seeing the world thru your post on Renderosity. Mahalo and Aloha....Errol

I prefer my future is bright and sunny...I know I want too much...LOL Interesting rock formations...did you find these on a lava field?
Debwhosmiles
Very eerie quality to this. The lack of color adds to the mood of this image. Well done~ =)

Tunde. This lava field is just off from another hiking trail leading to a lava pit called Mauna Ulu. Most people visiting this area will miss these interesting rock formation as there are no signs pointing to this area. Thanks for asking...Aloha

A very alien-like landscape indeed. If you look at it quickly, it almost looks like a huge mountain which has been eroded. But then the tree on the left gave it away - hehe. Well captured and thank you for sharing this. Best regards!

Stunning image, serious terrible to think that maybe be ours future, I prefer to think about that the conscience of the human being will grow and will not permit an end like that... marvelous capture!!!

Bleak, but atmospheric. Good composition, strong ambiance even if it's grim. Bur the tree in the corner gives me some hop. :)

Any ideas what caused these formations. I like the rain in this. Aloha!

Kort...Really don't know why for this particular rock formation. There are other places with unusual formations that are cause by lava onto a tree stump. Eventually, the tree will burn into ashes leaving the lava that surround the tree in tack. Aloha
