Description

This is a combination of Bryce 5, Universe (a starfield-rendering program by Diard Software), and Paint Shop Pro. The texture & bump maps for this oceanic Mars were created with the help of VistaPro 4, a sadly discontinued 3-D rendering program, great for terrains.

Thanks for the nice comments. As an amateur astronomer, a lot of my images are of places I would like to visit but cannot. In this case, my destination choice is separated by both time and space. I spent a LONG time working on the texture map for this oceanic Mars. Never happy with leaving well-enough alone, I'll undoubtedly be producing other versions in the future. (The clouds -- by the way -- are derived from a real NASA image.)
