Proud and powerful
Protecting and providing
Facing the struggle
Of life and death
Together ... as a family.
Perhaps the fact that lions are very social, living in prides as small as three or as big as forty, makes them more 'human' to me, especially the lionesses; the mothers, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers, who do most of the hunting and raise the cubs. Males protect the pride, their fierce roar projecting as far as five miles, but leave after two to four years, usually forced out by younger stronger males. Females stay with the pride for life.

WOW carol. Every time I get a chance to see one of your images I am completely wowed. This is absolutely gorgeous and so well done !!! Have you ever considered selling some of these paintings of animals ? I think they would go like hotcakes. lol. Really stunning work. So nice to see something so individual being done. Are you still using a mouse to paint ? lol. Cant say I have got the hang of that..... but a touchpad....yeah, I can do it on that...just dont have a working laptop these days. LOL !!!
