Description

This will not be seen for another 5,000 years...so don't blink or you will miss it ! I was very lucky to witness this phenomena, because the last couple of nights it has been too cloudy to see it at all, tonight was the last opportunity to see it with the naked eye. This shot was taken by me in the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales, Australia. This is a bit grainy, as I used the 25x digital zoom. ( approx. 7:30 pm EST) This Comet will gradually burn up as it approaches the Sun, the long tail is mostly ice particles. Cheers jif3d :o)

Dear Jeff, WOW - that is really awesome!!! I'd hoped I would get a chance to check it out, but all I've been seeing is gray clouds - and now it is not visible anymore for us. Here in the northen hemisphere we won't get another shot at it, but you should be able to see it for the next couple of days, Jeff. The latest I've heard is that it would still be at 0 magnitude on the 21st. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful pciture with us!!!! Love ya!!! Meredith Meredith Elaine Wilson - MeredithLand
