Description

From many of my lava post, you will see that most of the lava rocks are blackish/grayish/silver in color. The colors can change from reddish/brownish/yellowish depending on the composition of the lava. A little crack in the earth shows red lava rocks. Just for your asking "Maria" . Aloha and thank you for viewing

Very interesting shot sharkey, guess the lava melts and mixes whatever minerals are close by. Would they go drilling for stuff after seeing this? Cool shot!!

I have red lava rocks lining all of my flowerbeds and not only is it beautiful to look at, but it is also great for the plants. As it weathers it turns to a gritty powder that seems to fertilize the ground. My plants love it and so do I. Nice shot.

Thanks so much Sharky! Very kind of you to post this! It's just fascinating to me to see this amazing color of pink/red lava. I've always seen the very dark or black lava from images of Hawaii and just was not aware that this was possible! What wonderful contrast with the green fern. We learn and see lots of new and different things here at Renderosity! Thank you Sharky. :)

Interesting, the patterns look almost like decayed ruins of some kind; love the contrast between the different colors---I didn't know lava did that. The fern makes it look like something in a jungle, which I guess it will be in a few years.

Thank you for sharing this picture. I was fascinated by the previous one that showed a closer view, and this gives us a bigger picture of what the tube looks like. I find your lava photos fascinating, interesting, educational, and beautiful.

Jock...Funny you should ask. I did see a lava rock that had some gold coloring on it. I don't know if it was gold on this particular lava rock but there are gold, diamonds and other gems found in lava rock (volcanoes). Cinder mix are used in potting plants. Check out the "Benefits of Volcanoes" . Aloha
