Description

Over thirty years ago I met a clown called Hanski. He was a really nice guy (maybe I did fall in love with him a little...*lol*). I've kept the photo of him in a box, so the photo has suffered quite a lot during the decades but I can still remember how nice time we had talking and laughing! When the circus left the town we didn't meet anymore, ever. Sometimes it feels so good to go back to those times in thoughts - I'd never wanted to be young again though! Too hard to be young... I hope though that I never forget the great people in my life, any of them. This painting could fit the 2D Forum's January theme, Positive note. If you want to see the original reference photo for the clown you can go to 2D Forum to see it, here's the link: Hanski the Clown ------ Painted with oils on canvas sized 38 x 46 cm. I got as a gift a basic box of water soluble oil paints, and I used them here for the first time. No odour! I recommend to all of you who can't paint with oils because of the turp (or other) allergies. Water mixable oils are real oils, they don't consist any water; so they dry as slowly as normal oil paints but you can thin them with water, and you can wash the brushes with just water and soap. I'm not allergic - and I actually missed the odour of real oil paints. :-) ------ Thank you so much for your lovely and interesting comments you left under my latest log-people picture. Thank you so much for viewing! I appreciate a lot all the feedback! Thank you.

The picture is so boldly constructed ... unsually balanced to give the most dramatic effect. As in all your work it is beautifully crafted and packed with elegantly restrained emotion. The bittersweet little story is almost completely told in the picture itself. Excellent. Mike

you might have fallen in love with him a little bit, but i've fallen in love with this brilliant piece of work... it vaguely reminds me of some of the pictures from an art book my mum had when i was little and pictures were so much better than words then :))

This is really fabulous Titta. I think it is one of my favorites of your work. Everything is so well painted. The sky is gorgeous, but so is the ground and curtain. The clown is really excellent. I never have understood clowns with sad faces, but it is their choice. There is nothing not to like in this. It is perfect to me.

Wonderful painting Titta, every detail is perfect, and the expression in the clown's face is telling so much. You have put much feeling into this nostalgic painting, and composed it so well.

Hi Titta, just browsed through your gallery. WOW thats all I can say, awesome stuff, and I had a look at your homepage as well, sadly I didnt understand anything but Im impressed by your typography skills, very beautiful work what I got to see there! Well most people only know me cause of my fantasy illustrations I do for games or book covers, but my main income is still the work that I do as a graphic designer. Maybe I should post some of the typography and layout stuff I do all day as well on my homepage some day :-). However Im deeply impressed by all your skills, always fantastic to discover people with so many talents here in Rosity. Keep on your fabulous work and all the very best for your future

Wouldn't it be nice if someone could feel it when another person thought warmly of them? I sure Hanski would be enjoying your sentiment and visa versa :-) You have created a masterful painting and sentiment.
