Description
Someone took this shot of me, a year or so ago. I'm not very into posting my own self, nor do I really enjoy posing on that side of the camera (or any good at it, for that matter), but somehow I liked this shot. It was truely the first time I was somehow able to look at my own photo without first noticing all the things that I don't like about myself. I just looked at it as a photo. Which was quite a weird experience.
The original print is much softer and equally lit. I got a hold of the negative and decided to brutally torture it in the dungeon that is my darkroom. Basically, I washed it out on grade 5 paper, painted bits on it and exposed it again. The cloth I'm holding is visible in the original. I like the fact that I burnt that out. Makes me feel I'm floating. :)
Yes, I'm a sucker for chemicals...mweh. :)

It is like an appearance of light through darkness. I do not know if your character is black but it is doubtless mysterious and complex because it is rather difficult to interpret the glance: detachment, melancholy, irony, tenderness, complicity…. much and much! Bravo et merci pour cette vision de toi !
