Description

The guise of a fool may not seem all to cool but under the veil waits a blade to impale They know not what to expect of this goofy young kid. Young and stupid is all they see, they do not think to look any deeper. Twenty-three years old, what would he know about infinite pain? The smile on his face and his stupid demeanor, wisecracks, and grade school humor are all that reach out from his soul. That's all they see But I know me This mask may have bright colors on one side, but on the other it is black as the night in which I hide my secrets. A tiger waiting in the grass for unlikely prey. Subtly I shift your paradigm until you see things my way, so subtly you won't even know it was me. I'm just there, a friend, barely more than a presence. I hurt on one side, but you'll never know how deep. It's no joke, but I bet you'll laugh when I say I am god's image. I was born with one emotion, that was love. All the rest were learned. Then comes those times when one needs to break free. My family is more than it's tree It's more in how deep you can see There are few that know my true depth. Those that do have seen me lash out, but are only closer because of such. They are my true brothers and sisters, much stronger than blood. They stand behind me because they know I will take care of them in times of need. They know the purpose of the game. Who truly expects the fool to become the tiger?

Age is irrelevant: people of all ages are misunderstood and subject to judgement by stereotype. I doubt that anger would show my true depth ... indeed I suspect that I'm at my most shallow when I allow my temper to sawy my judgement. The truth is we are all very different beings, and should beware of generalisations. Interesting viewpoint nevertheless ... well written. Mike

at 23 most of my pain was already diminishing.... What i've learned, take your pain and agression when you're young. Its your fuc..ng right. As my dad used to say. When you're 18 and you never been in a fight, you have no balls; when you're still fighting at 28, you have no brains.... Thank you for reminding us of the pain of growing up.
