Description
Of course, this is a depiction of the crash of Shoemaker-Levy 9 into Jupiter back in 1994. Bryce (2, I believe) created Jupiter. The comet is completely "hand"-drawn -- airbrushing, morphing, and various plugin-effects created the tail. The starry background is the product of Universe and actual star photos which were heavily altered.

I think you'd do better to create your own starfield. The poor resolution on the one you used conflicts with the Jupiter and comet images. Also, Jupiter looks a little squashed.

Aaarrrggghhhh! You're right! I just overlaid a sphere on top of my Jupiter, and it appears to be compressed about 80% vertically. Now, how -- and when -- did I do that? You're right, too, about the poor resolution of the starfield. Looks like I need to approach this subject again.

You know when you see real star images, and you think they look fake....this is a fake image that looks real! Yeah, maybe change the resolution, but to me that's what gives the whole thing that 'real' just-out-of-the-telescope look.
