Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

a beautiful picture, jodie, and it affirms what I know & thought...the picture itself is beautiful, but as beautiful is the spirit of the soul before you (and the soul who's doing the capturing)...Painting rarely captures this, it's all of a photographic moment: a swivel, a glance-up and you capture her radiance wholly. Because you allowed her space, she looks utterly natural, smiling with light and a gentle askance as if she wants to give you all she has. And in full-size, there's this wonderful red-glow falling on her hair & face (on the viewer's right), harmonized by the chair and background (those earthen-reds you seem to find as if they called out to you); and the delight is, you didn't use too much of them, just enough to suggest something blessed visiting your daughter and illuminating her presence. A picture of a daughter and a silent bond between two people—revealed in one's desire to shine deeply, and in the other's to offer her the space in which to do it, untouched by anything but love. A beautiful tribute, to her and to both of you; and what better soul to celebrate an art that, for you, is all about love and connection...
