Description

Written a while ago, reposted with some revision and an updated cover picture. SEEKING SPRING I am the tree-in-winter man bough bent with wintry woes seeking spring. Inside, below the gnarled and ravelled rind, inscribed by glacial ink in cruel seasons, exigencies and crises lie curled concentrically in seized circles from heartwood to the bark. Inside, again, sap congealed and gelid trapped static in harsh-hardened tracheids, sits still pooled and sorrow chilled in serried cellular ranks from yesterday

Oh yes, I remember this and I, too, have just about had it with the cold, although I'll probably change my tune when I'm in the throes of our suffocating summer heat...ok, I'm drifting here, sorry...of course, I'm sure the poem has a literal and metaphorical meaning, 'least that's how I see it...somehow, I think I'll opt for the metaphorical Both picture and poem are wonderful Mike S Ok, no need to get the hook...I'm goin' :o) ~ Hugs ~ Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I love summer Mike, but accept the winter now, even though it's a lot colder right by the shore than inland. Pretty work, so beautifully embellished with fine words. Steve :o)

The winter here has been fierce and I, too, long for spring and its wram embrace. As always your writing has the depth of a wise old oak and the freshness of new blossoms. CC

Beautiful! Though there seems to be no real winters anymore, i think we all felt like 'the tree-in-winter man" at some time. Awesome writing!

A striking way to express a feeling of being in stasis. The hardest part is having the patience to wait until trees start to bud, robin's return, flowers bloom, and once again, we are whole. lea
