Description

How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, thy dwelling places O Israel. And I, by thy gracious mercy, shall enter thy house, and bow down in awe in thy Temple. (From the Shahareet, the Jewish morning prayer) Credits: (From Left to Right) P4 Man (Dork) custom morphed and textured to look like dphoadley. P5 Casual Boy in role of grandchild. P4 Girl with Anat's Lil morph and texture from Pitklad's Natalia Site, in role of granddaughter. P3 Business Man cloned and remapped by me to accept P4 skin textures, in role of tourist. P4 Man (Dork) morphed by me with morphs supplied by Pitklad's Domus, and momodot's MorphMan, in role of two Hasidic Jews. The Hasidic Jew on the far right was clothed with Ghastley's Minuet Man breeches freebie, and the Poser 4 Man's Overcoat. His Striemel (Fur Hat) was made by taking Ghastley's Posette hunting top hat and fitting it with a morphable tube primitive from Gerald Day, and then texturing it with a freebie fur texture. Background is a half tube primitive textured with a photo of Jerusalem as seen from Mount Scopus. David P. Hoadley

Jerusalem is indeed a site to see from a high vantage point. Love this series you are doing...brings back fond memories. -Rob

Very nice scene David! It is enchanting to see you in this scene my friend! What you did with the P4 girl is of stunning quality, I think that she can even rival with Kate2 of Poser7! The only critics that I could do is with the distribution of sharpness within the image: if the characters at the 2nd plane ar so sharp and have such a contrast, the background image must have a higher contrast and be sharper too. Or, these people have to be a little less sharp and have a poorer contrast too (eg. black clothes ought to be somewhat greyish). I shall nevertheless give a 5 to this pict because it is so cute and so well done!

Reminds me on my three days in Jerusalem years ago. Wonderful work, although I have to agree with Elcet. But it still is awesome and shows a great atmosphere of love and spirit! I only wished I could read the text g

Nicely done David, I like it. - Suggestion for improvement ... the shadows from the rail indicate that the sun is in the distant sky and yet the figures appear to be evenly lit from the front, i.e., the camera's view ... Did you use a flash attachment? <<<(asked with tonge in cheek). ;=] ... Suggest using ambient lighting to reduce intensity of colors for the figures ... unless the effect of a flash was your intent, of course. cheers and (as always) Shalom, dr geep ;=]

That's an interresting picture and a great view!peraphs using a multi layer rendering could help here(render the background once, set farest character from the camera and render, sue the new picture as background picture and set the following row of characters and so on...),impressive use of the P4 familly and the ressource of Poser here!Well done!

The concept is great. I'm guessing you're the guy on the left? The background seems a little washed out compared to the foreground elements, although this pic could have been taken on a very hazy day. Keep it up!

again, your composition is really wonderful. i like the flow your work has. it really gives the feeling of different people in motion, following different lives. you caught very well the feeling of a slice of time, a captured moment. even though it's very subtle, i love the girl's expression. i can tell you really love where you live. the only tweak i might suggest is literal- i'd tweak the poses a bit to make the key lower left ones a little more "noisy." for instance, giving your avatar just a bit of a tweak in the hips to make them less perfectly square, and maybe giving the abdomen and chest a little twisting and side to side. just two or three degrees can make a huge difference. let me add that i say this only after looking at this image again and again (it really is lovely). the lighting is even better than in your last image. i would say that the very long shadow from the railing implies a low sun, while the image seems to have short shadows with a high sun. but i have to say, i'm trying to match lighting with a photo right now, and even with ibl (with a gradient for an image) for ambient lighting i'm having a hard time getting to a similarly seamless look. as always, kudos!

Wow, a wonderful piece of work! I can't add much in way of advice that hasn't been mentioned, so instead I'm just going to marvel at the natural feeling and wonder. The collection of characters are really arranged in a way that resembles a great photo. The guy with the pipe is a very nice addition to the scene and really helps break things up a bit and add that natural randomness we see in day to day life. The children turned out fantastic and your Poser version of yourself is really wonderful (I've been seeing some of your examples around but have not had much time to comment.) All said and done this is a very nice piece, you were obviously inspired and your inspiration shines. All the best my friend.

I like this. Good job intergating the background image. The posing is improved in this image over the previous one I saw. The man with the pipe looks especially natural.

Well done - excellent work on making yourself, your grandchildren and all the other supporting actors. The recomendations by Dr. Geep and colbaltdream would certainly enhance your picture.

Good work David! Well rendered. If you squint your eyes and listen carefully you can see and hear two million Palistinians who have been in refugee camps for the last 40 years wondering when they can come home. Sorry David, I couldn't resist the opportunity to bring you down to earth. Can they come home now? Not very PC, sorry,

the three figures by the balustrade are a little stark and the background view might be manipulated slightly for the best balance, but others have made the useful suggestions. the layering idea is particularly valuable. This is your most relaxed composition yet and works very well. The writing is positioned to be unobtrusive. It's impressive what these modern word processor packages can supply. I have four languages currently set up on the machine and would add others as and when required. All I need additionally is some translation software and the world becomes an "oyster."

You are so talented! This is really a cute scene! I could re-morph and re-map stuff. It's too complicated for me, or it seems that way.

Critique Ring comment -- I really like the composition and look of the work. It is in a naturalistic but not photo-realistic style that I really like. My only technical criticism is that the Hassids' clothing is too black -- nothing is that black, it would probably help if there was a little highlighting on it, as well as on your dark blue shirt. I was thinking of something with the tonality of the boys hat, for example.
