Painting
Above the mantelpiece there is a painting on my wall
belonging to my girl-friend, I don't give for such at all.
For hours I gaze at it and I keep wondering what it's 'bout
but I have not passed the stage so far of trying to figure out.
A piece in mere rough strokes in flashing yellow, pink and green.
The first time that I saw it I turned mad right on the scene.
These strokes just interfere and there's no image to be found,
but it's a small concession to have my true love around.
Above the mantelpiece there's still this painting on the wall:
on my request the heirs of hers left it to me. (Thanks all!)
For hours I gaze at it as I do know what it's about:
the failing of your wits and life when she's been taken out.
A head burst by rough strokes in flashing yellow, pink and green.
The last kiss to her coffin made me dazzle on the scene.
These strokes may interfere but now their meaning's clear enough:
inside a scar they show to me the portrait of my love.

I love this poem. It has a depth of meaning that gets inside. I would love to hear the music but as you say it is not available I shall just have to use the music in my mind.
