Description

We had snow last night here in Memphis, and this morning before I went to work I just had to go by Victorian Village and take a shot or two. Victorian Village is a small section on Adams street here in Memphis that has but a shimmer of glory left over from the golden years from the 1800's when Adams Street and Vance Avenue (featured in recent previous posts) were the prime real estate here in town. This is the Woodruff-Fontaine House, which is a fully restored, three story French Victorian Mansion. It can be found at 680 Adams Avenue here in Memphis. As much as I have photographed both streets, I never have before photographed Adams Street after a snowfall, which is rare here in Memphis, especially since George Bush brought on all that the global warming! :~) The mid 1800's architecture is impressive. Hope you like! marshall

Excellent capture! Lighting and composition is dead on. Love the soft golden glow of the early morning sun light on the snow and mansion!

Global warming ???? Bush talk about that, that's right, I've heard this at the French news. It was humor I think ? Well I don't want to create a discussion about that here and now. But I like YOUR humor about that ;o)))) A good idea to stop and make a shot of this beautiful house for us. The light is so beautiful, making shadows of the Trees. Each day I pray for having some hours of snow here.... but it's just a dream ;o((((( Another superb shot Marshall. Hugs my friend

Gorgeous! Thank goodness this magnificent old place didn't get destroyed in the wave of "urban renewal" that swept the nation in the '60s and '70s. Excellent picture. Thanks!
