Description

I'm not quite happy with this image and for the life of me I can't figure out why. Any tips or hints will be very much appreciated.

I really like this image. As far as your comment on not liking something about it....What hit me first was that although they are or have been walking in the water it is almost totaly calm. Maybe a few more rocks too, back by the wall that one rock looks like it needs friends. It could also be darker to look more sinister.

I love the image and agree that something seems to be missing. I think it is the empty space behind the figures. Needs something. What? That is up to the artist. Possibly rocks as llacey suggested, or maybe, just another figure. Otherwise, Nice image

Perhaps the space between the figures is the thing to look at. Maybe move her to the right so her hand is closer to his sword hand. I also think he may look a little better if he was rotated toward her more. One thing I've done when I can't think of what to change is I move the camera. If you moved it to the right, (or left) that might provide another viewpoint on your scene that you might like better. Give it a shot!

Try to FOCUS ON THE CENTER OF INTEREST, the FIGURES. Darken the background as suggested by llacey (make it more sinister), rearrange the figures as suggested by Droyd (it will improve the composition), the empty space in the middle IS the problem. Add dramatic lighting to call more attention to the figures and increase the tension. Pick the most important elements, and make everything else FOCUS on them.
