Description
I haven't seen bluebirds in many years, and never in town. They prefer woodland or open fields. Brought back from serious decline by bird conservationists, one can now see special bluebird nesting boxes built along fenceposts in open farmland or near woods. You can easily google how to build one and find specific plans. I was surprised to see four or five of them at the edge of my yard in town last week, and got to watch them feeding for a short while, even as the rain changed to sleet, and then to snow. The next day the ground was a white blanket of snow, and these delightful little creatures were gone. Not the best quality, they were far too far away, and these are seriously cropped, but here they are anyway, just in case it's another dozen years before I get to see them again.
