Description

It's hard to tell them from the Ruddy Turnstones when they're in their eclipse plumage, but I'm pretty sure these are the black versions. Captured a few days ago near Pescadero, CA.

Excellent photograph. Don't know if Turnstones are coastal birds or migrating through but its great to see them in that environment. :)

I was just wondering, 'black?', 'ruddy?', 'hmmm?'. And whether an eclipsed ruddy is also black. But then I just enjoyed the fine picture.
