Description

Just another of dozens that I have....not that I'm going to post one after another, but there will be a few more. ..and when I say dozens..I mean of mascots...I have thousands of photos of automobiles as I've been photographing them for over 45 years ( yeah I'm that old). In fact it was photographs of cars that lead me to this website. I have Kenmo to thank for making me aware of this artistic community because we share the same fascination with the world of wheels. Make it three enthusiasts! This is an awesome composition, Chief Pontiac is depicted like some ancient Hellenic hero. That's an epitome of the American Design. No wonder Harley Earl declared: "Styling is the Modern Art of Industry". Your picture shows his words could not be more correct. This is a photo i would turn into a poster and frame to hang on my studio as permanent source of inspiration. Let's see more hood mascots!

Oh yes, Pontiac,, my grandmother had one with this guy, I wanted it so bad and I was all of about 6 at the time!! They really and truly don't make em like this anymore, course if they did, someone would just steal it!!!
