Description

Poser 7 and some minor postwork with PI 12 Monitor lizards are considered to be the most derived lizards, possessing a relatively high metabolic rate for reptiles and several sensory adaptations that benefit the hunting of live prey. Recent work indicates that the Varanid lizards, including the Komodo dragon, do indeed have venom. The bleeding, swelling, and infection from varanid bites are therefore not solely due to strains of bacteria in their mouths, as previously believed. Some monitor lizards are apparently capable of parthenogenesis. Thank you for looking... comments are always welcome!

Such a powerful and great image, Roland :) You must have worked really hard with this one, all the poses, the details and the history behind your image. Wonderful composition and atmosphere. Great lighting. Gorgeous group of beauties. Even one of them is wearing the right kind of dress. 8-) Nice skin tones. But with that lizard in the midst of them I wouldn't go there... unless they promise to suck all venom off if I'm bitten! 8-) Fantastic scene and glad to see you posting here from time to time.

I didn't know about the venom either. I find these large lizards fascinating and have watched tv shows about them. Kind of a living monster perhaps? Excellent scene compo and the ladies are beautiful!
