Description

Well, this image proved to be one of the most challenging and instructive I've done to date. V4, by DAZ, and Superstar Vickie, by Jim Burton, both from DAZ Floats, MicroCosm, and buildings from RDNA Moorings by Dark_Anvil from Content Paradise I had a real problem with the moorings rendering with the Firefly engine. It left artifacts all over the moorings face in the final render. There were no artifacts using the Poser 4 engine. However, the shadows simply would not come out right with the Poser 4 engine. I was about to scrap the whole thing when a thought struck me. I used Glowworm, by Poseworks and available at DAZ, to do a multipass render. Using Glowworm, I did passes for beauty (the base image), diffuse, specularity, shadow, and each light. I then used Photoshop to reintegrate them. This added control over each element allowed me to avoid the artifacts left from a complete render of the scene. This is the final result - Planetfall: after months in space, with no room to move or breathe, the chance to sit and relax in the open air is worth more then money could ever buy.
