Description
This time I chose the Black-collared Barbet (Rooikophoutkapper) also representative of the common garden birds in central South Africa. I hope you like the red color which is not coincidental tomorrow, Feb 14th!

Common garden birds!! Yikes! Surely this is the blessing to offset the crime rate..you South Africans have all sorts of lovelies to photograph. I sure would like to visit. Very well done in detail, color and compo. Thanks a lot for these fine shots.

I forgot to mentione in the comments for the crested barbet that I really appreciated the link to more info on that bird. I was looking for a link to this one also .. grins .. but no luck. These are wonderful shots, and I'm guessing these are not as aggressive as the crested variety.
