Description
This was written for me by the ArchMage.
The rush of adrenaline rushed through my veins and the thrill of anticipation coursed through me as I readied for the summoning. The room that I had selected was perfect for the summoning. It lay deep in the maze of tunnels that ran under my castle. It was a large ante chamber, but secure enough for my purposes that had stood empty for perhaps centuries. Great columns that were evenly spaced around the chamber rose from the floor to reach up into the dim darkness of the ceiling in support and gave the ceiling the appearance of a dome effect.
The flames of the torches that lined the chambers flickered and dance giving off and eerie glow, and in a dark corner of the ante chamber some unseen vermin moved and rustled in the darkness as I finished drawing the circle of containment on the floor in the center of the room to which I added four candles, willing the wicks to life as each smoldered and burst to flames as my hand passed over each one as I placed each candle opposite of each other around the circle.
Finally being ready, I looked around and nodded in satisfaction as I knelt at the outer edges of the circle, and meditated deeply, drawing upon my inner powers and forces. Softly I chanted a low guttural invocation in a language long forgotten by man.
As I felt the power rise within me I increased the tempo and tone of the chants until I could feel the air crackle in the chamber around me. Quickly I unfurled the scroll of summon and placed it before me as I began evoking the spell.
