Description
Hello everyone! :)
What I know about golf could be stuffed into a thimble with enough room left over for a super-sized Happy Meal. Just once, I was badgered into playing nine holes at a local course. I had an enormous amount of trouble with the driver (not the guy who took me there... but that big, fat club one has to begin with) although once I had my ball in play, I became particularly partial to the 5 iron. That baby can chip its way out of just about anything.
But it soon became apparent that my divots were travelling further than my balls... and I spent more time repairing the greens than I did actually playing the game... so I couldn't wait to get back to the clubhouse and drown my sorrows with the day's special... which happened to be frozen margaritas. I think it was just lime Koolaid mixed with tequila (it was a low budget establishment) but it numbed my teeth and cast a forgetful shroud over the day's embarrassments... ;)
Which were legion... lol! It was fun, though!
I'm not sure how this fractal pertains to golf... but there's that stick and flag way out yonder... so it must have some significance... ;)
While I was making it, I kept hearing the Eagles sing "Hotel California"... cuz if they had a golf course there... this would be it...
Ultra Fractal... no postwork.
Hey, guys (and gals... but I think that's understood)... thanks so much for your views and comments on my latest stuff.... I surely appreciate all of it!
And thanks for stopping by to have a look at this one.
Hugs!
Helen :)

Long ago I discovered that the key to playing golf is to have enough balls...GOLF balls, of course! The more trees on the course, the more balls get lost. This is another Locomouse spectacular, and the totally unrelated flag is certainly a subject for conversation, and deep thought and speculation. AWESOME! ;-)

This is most interesting! A bit puzzling, but hey, I like that in a fractal! LOL! Truly a beauty! Did you put that flag there on purpose or did it just appear and you felt it was 'meant' to be there?
locomouse
'Twas a fight to the finish to put that flag there, Maddy... ;) It just seemed necessary. I can't truly say why... but I could tell you how... ;) Thanks so much, hon... :)

Par One and 10 swings later..... LOL I used to keep a set of golf clubs because golfing was the only way to see and spend time with my in-laws. :) Super work as always, Helen!

I'm not a fan of golf, but it seems to me that the poles in the holes do have flags on them...at least the golf courses I see on TV. This is unique, detailed, and clever, which seem to be your trademarks. What fun!

Now that's just freakin' kewl! The fractal and the story! ;)

I got balls but I dont play golf though LOL Cool stuff Helen :-)

I never even carried a driver, I could hit my seven iron farther anyway. Quite the golf hole, it reminds me of the scene from Bagger Vance where the ball is deep in the woods and Bagger, who is really God, convinces Matt Damon he can hit it through; which of course he promptly does. One of my favorite movies of all time. The psychic barriers are wonderful in their complexity and the framing is perfect, terrific work! The path to the hole is very clear.

It sounds like you play like I do. I play golf almost as bad as tennis, but they haven't offered to pay me to stop taking lessons yet, like in tennis. ;o) Excellent image. Superbly done. Bunny

Great story of your golfing experience. :) I've never tried it. A very different and unique fractal.
Velvet-Glove
Wow, this is GREAT, Helen! Before I read your notes my first overwhelming impression when I saw this was of "suits of armour". I don't know about the flag (I know nothing about golf, lol!) but in my mind's eye I can just see a striped little tent or a pair of jousting poles in the middle there that would make a compelling "Medieval Knights" scene. Come to think of it, I'm sure they had flags/pennants in those days too so it still fits in with my little fantasy here. ;-)

I sortta took this image as a statement golf is for the elite - fancy surroundings, no sand traps or other obstructions to make par....

I know even less about golf, most of what you said was Greek to me! I am glad you had a wonderful time though. I love the extra touch with the flag there! I think it is a wonderful fractal! It kinda looks like one looking out the window at the club to the flag on the grass. Lovely window decorations!

We are such things as dreams are made of,I once read. And my first game of golf was an excursion into the depths that you depict around the edges of your work. I went home with more than I brought. The silent veterans of the game of old are standing by the window to see my shot. Alas, it was lost to others in the hazards alongside the course. You make use of more than the flag but it still is the focus of attention,eh! Just great work. The clever title says it all! When I drive/walk the course this spring, I will see your picture in my mind and will start the game in the correct frame of mind. You are the best.

So very very pretty. I grew up acosss the sreet from a course and I never got good at golf but had loads of fun laughing at my shots. Thanks for sharing your first trip out there on the course. I enjoyed it almost as much at this image. Excellent. ;)

What I know about Golf is...Change the channel. But your images do NOT fall into that catagorie, Splendid work Helen & Peace

SuperA design!

Hi Helen, I agree with velvet_glove. The two fractals in the foreground sort of look like the helmets the Spanish medieval soldiers wore, you know the ones who went with Cortez to South America? Just a beautiful pic, as always. <>
Juliette.Gribnau
beautiful fractal !
mountmous
Just beautiful. The spirals glow so softly... And what a beautiful arches you've put in here (where did find them?). Love the background, with the blue. It looks a bit like very, very early morning. The question here of course if you go for the birdy next time. But you've made birdies already... ^_^

Postwork or not is not so important as i see the flag i have so my doubt about that :-) but its for sure again a great scene you have a superb phantasy

looks like a stage for an elaborate production. awesome fractal. I only tried min.golf once and did not get the bug.anyway I am too cheap to pay the enormous fees for golf
