Squad-Leader Pi looked at the colorful insect that he had coxed to land on his index finger. Softy came over to see what the Squad-Leader had done. Softy asked in her audible voice, "Planning to collect insects, now, Squad-Leader?" Mono-chromo made some kind of rude sound like a turtle being crushed, and remarked audibly, "You should get back to scanning the perimeter. We are in hostile territory. The mark one and two scouts were lost near here. Besides, Softy--playing with dolls will take up too much of your time!" Softy flashed her infra-red lamps at Mono-chromo in anger and remarked, I do NOT play with dolls! I'M an ANTHROPLOLGIST! Understanding humans is my specialty!" Squad-Leader Pi remarked, "Keep your voices down. keeping off the radio traffic won't save us if we scream our positions away! I can appreciate beauty AND keep watch. Staying visible is our ONLY chance to spot more of those aliens!" Mono-chromo nodded. "I may not see color, but cloaked I spotted them. They got to the wreck site first. I was relieved it was it was extra-terrestrials." Softy remarked in a craftily crafted sarcastic tone, "Only First PHYSICAL contact with aliens. Good thing the flying cities might not know about them or be in cahoots with them!" Pi turned laughed at Softy. " 'Cahoots'? Your language use is certainly eclectic! We desperately need information. The whole of Apharis may be in jeopardy from these 'aliens'! We have NO choice. Listen up." Pi shooed the butterfly away and said, "We'll cloak and infiltrate that hospital across the river. That city 64 shuttle landed on top of it. They may have tactical information. This is insanely dangerous as missions and I'll understand if either of you want to back out." Mono-chromo exclaimed,"I'm in! I'm only a Mark 22, and not a Mark 23 like you, Squad-Leader--I have things to prove!" Softy nodded. "We all do. I have to prove that I'm as capable as any Cyclops machine-life! The Mark 24's like me are NOT a dead end because we are almost androids! Even IF I am a mutant female WITHOUT a phased radar array, I'm stealthier than either of you. I have the highest chance of successful mission completion. I'm in!" Pi expressed happiness in a sound burst, and said. "Lets get this sad experiment in Cyborganic Darwinian Evolution underway."
