Description
Well,I haven't been resting since I put up the last picture of the yamaha stuff. Nope, I've been texturing and modelling and extruding etc, for ages, and I reckon it's beginning to pay off.
I'm planning to outfit the kit with another couple of drums, plenty more hardware, and a decent range of cymbals - I'm modelling the cymbals at the minute which believe me, is harder than it looks!
But for now, I thought I'd show you what I'm up to so far, it's a bit of a work in progress as you might have noticed.
But anyway, here's what I've got at the minute. I'm very pleased with it, and I hope you like it too!
UPDATED, 2nd March, 00:57 (GMT)
I've changed the dark metal texture for one that looks realistic. While this looks better, it still looks a bit too bumpy and needs some further editing. I'm going to add some more cymbals, and I've decided I'm definitley going to include a 14" china, a 16" trash and a 9" china splash (the kit I practise on is big on chinas).
There's not much more to be dooe on the modelling front, it's mostly tweaks now. Tweaks and textures.
Obviously the cymbals need modelling in much more detail, the blank disks i've got there at the minute are for reference only. They're awaiting being replaced by properly shaped, lathed, textured and hammered versions, complete with decals and any relevant textures.
CHANGES SINCE LAST VERSION:
Added drop clutch and upper part of Hi-hat stand.
Retextured cymbals
Textured metal fastenings on stand legs
Completely retextured hardware and all lugs/bolts etc on all drums.
Replaced previous "dark" metal texture [this is going to be updated again, I'm still not 100% happy with it].
[Many thanks, to Liam and his colleagues at Rockem music, for letting me come down and get a lot of good reference photos!]
