Description

Made this model in 3ds Max 6. Rendered in Vue 6I. The F86 Sabre was such a cool jet. At almost the dawn of the jet age this plane was like saddling and riding a jet engine. One of my favorite planes. I might make this mesh available for download here, we'll see.

It's not triple sonic, and it cannot carry a huge bomload halfway around the world but it did show a little truth in the quote of "Engine Charlie" Wilson. "What's good for General Motors is good for the USA." What was good for GM before 1926 was Fokker and a new name "North American Aviation."

My first and favorite jet. They used to fly low over the house all the time when I was a kid. The base sirens would sound and I would never know if it was a drill or the beginning of World War III. Dad was a Tech-Sgt instructing classes in the maintenance of the F-86d. I've always meant to model one. Yours is a great looking example. Well done. This whole thing started when I saw the F-86 in your Teenage Martian series. I started working back in time to start the comic and ended up here. So, since I'm here I'll say, Lotta great stuff in your gallery. Get ready 'cause I'm probably going to pepper it with comments but I also want to get through to the comic today too. Anyway, good work!!!

Very well-done ! It reminds me of my childhood, when I loved to make models of historic planes, and I liked the F-86 very much.
