Je länger man malt, desto mehr ist man Lehrling The longer you paint the more you are an apprentice.
Bele Bachem
Brief introduction: SaintFox is
-a woman born 1962 at the north sea coast of Germany.
-moved to the german midwest in 1996
-to a small town that offers a lot of medieval inspiration
-has at least two souls
...and about the nick: It's a mixture of my haircolor and a tattooed fox cub that I wear and that looks so saintly as a vegetarian. As long as I can think I enjoyed being creative - and I always loved learning something new! As I had my first look here I so much wanted to do images like the ones I saw in the gallery. But it took me several years to be brave enough to post my first image here. After all I do not understand anymore what made me hesitate so long... I'm a professional artist/illustrator, not at least because of the permanent encouragement of the "Captain of my heart", he's my muse, my secretary, my "wonderwall" against those things that are able to disturb creative processes so easily. Most of my work is published by a german gallery in Gelsenkirchen and available at my own homepage, too. In late 2005 I wask asked for my first collaborated works and so I finally found a second profession in doing my own characters and textures what enables me to give my images even more personal style.
Whenever I start to work on something new - especially when working with characters - there is a moment when the bundle of polygons and pixels suddenly seems to look at me from the other side of the monitor, it's the moment when my creations get personality. This is, at least, what I like to "transport" with my products: artist tools that are able to inspire the people that work with them because they have a kind of "virtual soul".
A woman under influence
Major influences on my work come from other admired artists and music. Some of my favorites: Jan Vermeer van Delft James Jaques Tissot Rembrandt van Rijn Hajime Sorayama Olivia De Berardinis Marcus Gray Herb Ritts Helmut Newton Alberto Vargas Ricky Carralero Gerald Brom ...and, regarding the feelings that I have when doing my characters: Dr. Viktor Frankenstein! Music: Too much to count, alternative and classics preferred but sometimes it has to be soul or jazz, too. The second large influence are people I met here: They comment on my images and help me to enhance them, they share their knowledge and finally some of them decided to involve me in their projects. For me (as I grew up in the before-internet-age) it's still some kind of miracle that people are able to work together independent of where they live.
...and, before I forget, the strongest influence during the last years came from some lines I read about 15 years ago:
Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness. What ails us is that our sense of beauty is so bruised and blunted, we miss all the best.
D.H. Lawrence

Good luck getting a job! This is a great pic. I think he needs a bigger cue stick for that ball!

Oh, this is a perfect ending to the series! You are so clever--and he is very handsome!

Without Kevin/cue-ball the poolgirls would have to just lie there, motionless. Here's the one that puts them in action and ultimately to their pockets. A very well accomplished series, SaintFox and Digital-Lion. I know you both worked hard and diligently but as you can se, it has been so popular and admired. Well done!
Fredy

And I have to grumble a bit gg: Did I say "No more pool-images!"?! Did I?! I did not! What I said was "No more pool-girls!". Tricksey, wordy you must be one those tricky hobbitest. Nice render. I grew up in the LA area , but I am no longer there. left in 1990.

Dear Meike, I don't think anyone would quibble over the words when the result is a cool picture like this!!! He looks like he knows how to handle that cue stick!!!! Super scene and a great ending!!!!! I'm in Texas, but we have a lot of California connections - and I know a lot of folks there. And I know some pretty good lawyers, too. If you don't mind telling me a little more, I might be able to help you some. I'm a little concerned about the "legal representative" part - I'm not sure why that would be necessary as we do busy in California all the time without any problems like that. Heck, we do business everywhere!!! Im on the downhill run now!!! Im gonna ride as an observer in the Citation X tomorrow while someone else does their final in-flight training and then does their checkride!! Itll give me a good preview of what Ill be doing on Friday!! Its been a lot of fun but Im gonna appreciate things slowing down a little!!! And - all my maternal instincts went wild tonight when I received an e-mail from home!! Check out my latest post to see my little guys at home waiting so patiently for me to get back!!!! I got all choked up when I opened the e-mailed picture!!!!!!!!! (I know - I lead a VERY strange life!!!!) While Im on vacation and doing pilot training, Im going to need to continue doing a lot of cut and pasting with just a tiny little real comment added!! Im really sorry, but I just dont have much time right now to write my usual wacko stuff! Ill be back on March 3rd!! Love ya!!! Meredith

That's the best one :) He's so slick and handsome! Beautiful composition in black and white. Superb!
MajinBoo
Well I did say bald didn't I? Not quite what I was expecting. Of course I gotta admit Kelvin is one of favorite Poser guys. Heck he looks like me if I were taller and slimmer. I have to add the pose and compositon fit with the rest of the series you did. But where do you go from here?
stukes
Great ending to a great series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tabala
No, dear it was Your idea to make a male char, I only suggested Kelvin because his skin could have given a nice contrast to the white ball :) And WHAT a contrast! Smart and exact the kind of guy which has the category "Sabbertypen" (In english.... such kind of guy you turn your head when You see him on the street ^^) giggle When I think it over You make 1 man run 15 women ROTF In real life I guess he would have no chance LOL Thank You for sharing this great series with us!
jwiest
LOL...not what I expected, but a great cue-ball! :)
