My hats are off to all the women riders. Their game plan is to win and nothing short of it. This girl is determined and puts her all into it. She whispers gentle to her horse, "Giddy-Up!" Dear Errol, I've seen this "pose" before with the outstretched hand and the lean into the turn! I assume she was about to round a barrel. The horse and she both are "signaling" a sharp turn ahead. You're really capture a highly emotional moment and her expression tells a huge tale of her determination and skill!! This is the kind of photos you see in the very best of the photojournalist series!!!!!! Very exceptional work, my friend!!!!!! If this is barrel racing, you can bet its competitive. I did this for awhile and I guess I didn't have that edge that allowed me to take big enough risks. Sailing around a barrel at a 45 degree angle to the dirt on a horse big enough to crush me if he lost footing was too unnerving. Great shot of the determination these women have.
