Hello everyone,
I just got a dig into an old HDof mine and I discovered one of my "early" Bryce experiment. This was a photo of a face of a woman applied as a terrain grayscale.
Its one of those things you can try a zillion times again and never get the same predictable result, and this is one of the thing I like about Bryce ...
Today I would have changed the too obvious sky, but I cannot retrace the original Bryce 4 file
Cheers !

Very cool idea, and one funky piece of terrain. Nice work, love the originality of it!!

Height maps (DEM's) aren't like photos in that they have no shadow zones. Photo do and thus displace so. Unpredictable for that reason. Use a DEM and you'll see. But it's still cool that it looks like a face with glasses.

to RBlue it was it was ! A photo of a woman w sunglasses ! Sometimes I just try things for the fun of it. Yes, I know photos gives random results (you could have real crap) because of the shadow issue, but do not make this a general rule. Bending some rule now and then has the purpose to make us doscover something sometimes...

Hello ! and thank you for your comment on my Bryce collage called 'The Awakening of the Buddha'...Actually, there are 3d models of the Buddha available on the internet,as long as you are ready to pay for them, and the one I found was not particularly similar to what I have seen in Nepal, for instance. So I used the wooden figurine I brought back from a small village there and inserted it in my Bryce picture. I have tried my hands on the type of picture you have placed in your gallery above and I like that one, but I must admit I am not very good at doing that for the moment... Best wishes, Jean-Luc Have a look at ...: http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/313532 and see for yourself!
