Description
On Jan 6, 2007, I had to put my dear Kira to sleep after nearly 14 years of faithful companionship. I am still having some trouble now and then dealing with the grief. One way of dealing with it for me, is through photography. Kira was the only pet that I have ever had cremated (though I could scarcely afford the cost). Today I was able to find a cheap, yet ornate wooden box in which to keep her cremains. I arrange some photos of her and then took a photo of the arrangement. I got to playing with it and came up with this... which I think was inspired in some way. I did it in about 10 minutes and I just love the results. I hope you all do too. I love my Kira so much... and I miss her so. Thank you all for sharing a bit of my grief and my love...
This is a combination of two photos that I took. One of Kira on May 12, 2001, at the Donald E. Lassetter Plaza in St. Louis, MO. The other was taken today of her memorial, here in Cahokia, IL, USA.
You may also notice Kira's bright pink collar, with her glow-in-the-dark tab, which she wore for most of her life. (May 1993 - Jan 2007)
You can visit Kira's web site at jubchuqun.com/kira if you would like to hear her story "in her own words" ...

Oh, it took me by surprise. Kira looks so much like my Rahni. Tears are pouring out. A wonderful tribute.
