Description

Looking down from a watch tower on Gehellan's Ridge, Caroline's Lake is peaceful now, under a gathering of cloud and haze. Typical Alban 'summer' weather. If you can see the lake, it is going to rain. If you cannot see it, it is already raining. The sea is just hazed over at the moment but it is still a fair trek on foot to the rocky shore and the frail looking, wee coraceels used by the fisher folk. Snow is still evident on Broom Ridge to the left. Golden hares, originally from the Rathellen Isles, live wild on its slopes. Douglassein lords brought them over when old Prince Daww invited 'Men of Iron' to establish the feudal system in Alba, some centuries past. Both Dawwsmen and the Douglassein are long gone, after the treachery of the Black Horse Brotherhood, but their forest plantations still rise above Alban soil, their mills still grind bread, and their hares make a good meal, when the men cannot make it out to sea.
