Me Dad an me would walk back from't mill and us tea would be ready an waiting for us when we got in. After tea Dad would alus nod off by't fire so ahd get fust bath. Then ahd go to up to bed, careful not to wake little uns like, wi a piece an dripping for supper and ahd listen to me Mam an Dad talking while she'd put sum more hot wather in't tub.

Did tha 'ave a shoit mad out t'flour sack an aw? Coming from Lancashire I am pretty sure this is what mill life was like, although ma must have a lucrative business doing other's washing as she's bit well dressed ;o) Great image!

Well, I have visited Lancashire on many occasion and this scene really did get me thinking about how life must have been in those days. I was going to say, it's like an advert for Hovis, but that would have been a compliment! lol Excellent art. Very well done indeed. Oh, take it easy and don't overdo things.
