Description

Everything modeled by me in 2.42. Rendered with Blender internal. For those of you who remember the Japanese maple tree I did where the file size was 107 whatevers (January 24th in my gallery), you may be interested to know that this is only 17 whatevers. (I don't actually know what that measurement IS, but that's a huge difference in the file size!) Thanks to haloedrain for the ALT+D tip! All the leaves, columns, headers, spindles . . . everything where there's more than one of 'em . . . were done with that method. By the time I was done with this it was running pretty slow, but it WAS running! :) Please notice the grass out back. Thank you, Tobak, for all your help, for teaching me about static particles, and for sharing your file with me! For those of you who have given me excellent advice about UV mapping and Yafray (mostly oodmb and Gog), well . . . it's not your fault I'm a slow learner! I haven't quite got a handle on those issues yet. Nonetheless, your assistance and generosity is appreciated.

if your going to spend time doing work on grass or trees, they should be the focus of the picture, if not at least being in the forground for us to admire. also, remember water is reflective.

I agree AND disagree with oodmb. Water is, indeed, reflective if the viewing angle permits. Working on grass or trees lends to composition of an artistic expresstion. It does not mean it must be a focal point of a piece unless that is your intention. T,this is cool work. I know how long and hard you worked on this. Your progress, from the get go, has been impressive. I would ALSO like to extend kudos to those you mention in your comment.Generous sharing of skills and knowledge keeps this whole scene going/Blending. Luv Ya!

congratulations! This is fabulous! I am bringing my Diet Pepsi with me to sit and watch the koi in the pond. Maybe a little rum in it for good measure :)
