Description

The 'Tokoloshe' is a mischievous goblin spirit of South African folklore with nocturnal tendencies. Legend has it that only children can see the little man who is invisible to adults. Apparently if an adult were to take the sleep from a dogs eye and rub it in your own eyes while staying up all night chances are good that you'll see him. I haven't tried. :-)

These spirits seem to be in all cultures in one form or another. For them to be so prolific, it makes me wonder about the origins and validity of the legends. It seems there has to be some context of reality for them to be so ancient and widespread. Your image is fabulous and has the air of mystery and other worldliness to match the legend.

Great image, the amount of time and effort your work must take is staggering but obviously so worth it!
