Description
I shoot this with out her knowimg it. I did not even look in the camera . very danger way to do things with a big zoom film camera. My point and shoot digital camera I can get away with lol
The focus is pass the IR so that is why it comes out soft looking You have to focus it before the subject I think. Since infrared rays generally come to a focus just a bit further away from the lens than light rays a slight focus adjustment needs to be made to achieve the sharpest results. This is accomplished by moving the "visible" focused distance over to the infrared focusing mark indicated on most lenses by a red line, dot or letter R. The focus adjustment is quite small and especially when using small apertures can be ignored for the new focus will probably fall within the depth of field of the lens. [I had help here to write this]
I have no red 25 filter on at the time I forgot to put it on. Plus I had it on 400asa so that is why it gainy looking. Just place in your mind every thing you see here as no contrast. I mean the shadows was not showing. I had to use the levels in photoshop real heavy to get what you see in the contrast. The sky was even blow in these photos I took about 30 mintures before the sun is down. Maybe no filter did it in or the golden hour did it in? I do not know.
I did add the color to the image thinking it would help and make it look old. I did take a photo of the lady and she kewn about it for she pose for me I post it tomorrow. I did not use a tripod here I did use a tripod and I got the same soft look. guess it the forcus of the IR which is diff
I just learn about IR filters You can put on your digital cameras. I got a point and shoot camera but I can hold the filter over my lens to get the effects. i try it with the red filther I have and my sunglasses too and it worked. I getting one off of ebay now and hope it be in a week or two. I red that is why IR film is going out because you can chage the digital camera on the inside or add a filter to get the IR effects. I know you all saw my UV lighting images I did over 90% of them eith a digiatal and some film too. I be checking them out. May have to buy some to see what will work lol cost money to play

Dear Jock, Our lens are designed for visible light - so when you switch you IR which has a lower frequency, it "bends" differently through the lens - so the focus is going to be different. You might need to work out a correction for each distance so you've got a rule of thumb as to how far in front or behind the subject you need to focus in visible light for it to be in focus with the IR. This pciture realyl does have a neat look!!! It reminds me of some from the early part of the century! Very excellent effect!!!!! Love ya!!!
