Description

I don't like and I'm not sure why. Here are some flaws I see with it. The background is wrong I think and not lit very well. The Cherry trees also are not lit very well. The left side of her hair gave me fits. Her pose looks semi forced, like a model posing in one position too long. But I'm afraid that even if I fix all of these, it still won't be right. I'd like to ask all the great poser artists here...what's wrong with this composition? What will make it better? I spent a long time on this and would like to fix it. Please, please pick away!

Her right leg is at an extremely odd angle. That's all I see with her. :o) I love the background, but the mountain doesn't seem very realistic, as if it should be further away. I do believe this image is worth working out the problems with it, and I think when you do, you will be quite pleased with it.

I am not a poser artist and not even sure how it all works but the part that jumped out at me was the right leg. It is turned in the middle of the thigh and not at the hip. I think the trees are good, could use a little highlight on the mountains...too gray scaled. I like her hair and I realaly like the way you have her hands. I hope this helps. Don't know if it is worth much comming from a non-poser artist. :)

it's a lovely piece of work - some helpful hints: the background seems too near, somehow "pasted" - and you can see some strange shadows, I think they come from the trees. the "remedy": move the background way back along the z-axis and scale it accordingly. a second step that may help: render two passes: one with shadows on - and one with shadows off - and combine those two renders. so you can play with light&shadows to get more depth. and a third step could help: when the background is too dull, you can use a glowing color (don't know the english poser term) - to brighten it up. hope this helps a bit :)

very cool image!!! the right leg needs some work i thin and what jumps out for me is that there is no shadow bellow the swing. the background could maybe be blurred a bit for some DOF.

she is just sitting in front of a poster in a photo studio.. nothing wrong with that.. the fun thing is that the background is clearly 2D but the flowering trees and the rest looks absolutely 3D. That is the main thing.. the 2D. vs the 3D. So that is it.. it looks like a photo shoot and if you don't like photo shoots, i understand your mood, but otherwise I must say .. i like that a lot there for the 5 stars are for you

I keep lookin, and all I see is the right leg issue. But, the render and lights are beautiful!

Nice render! I would just zone out the right thigh so that the leg is turned clockwise. That's pretty much all I see that is distracting. Otherwise great job!

I really like it but the leg resting on the chair is a bit odd looking apart from that you did great, love the hair :)

As stated previously, the only obvious abnormailty I see is with the anatomy of the right leg. It looks twisted unaturally at the mid-thigh. The pelvis should be tilted somewhat towards the right hip for the position of the lower leg to be correct. Otherwise a beautiful image.

Please let me applaud you for asking for criticism. The finish you have achieved here, looks very rich and professionally finished. The character you have chosen, is very pretty indeed and her hair is immaculate. Ok, the right thigh needs twisting back a touch, add some cloud to the top of those mountains, might give it more depth and use a dodge tool to lighten and enhance the cherry blossom. They are really minor changes. Full marks for content! Steve :o)
