Description
She's finished. I'm tired. I'm going to bed now.
Thank you a million times everyone who provided me with all the excellent suggestions on how to fix this!
Here's all that I did with it:
Lit the background mountain better. I also moved it waaaay out and increased the size. I also blurred it for a feeling of depth.
Lit the cherry trees better. I also seperated them to open up the background so it didn't feel so claustrophobic (sp).
The lighting overall was tricky. The tops of the mountains took the full brunt of sunlight, but became much more subdued towards the viewer. In keeping with that, I decided against throwing hard shadows up close and kept the shadows soft.
That right leg! Man was that a pain. And what I did would surely have the poor girl screaming in agony. While the outside of the thigh looks much better than the original, the inside shows marked deformation so it's a good thing the angle of the render show just the outside. I usually don't have a problem getting the pose I want, but sheeesh!
And I sacrificed the bottom part of the picture to keep the size down. This time, at the original 1600x1200, it took compression of 22% to bring the size down resulting in visible loss of quality. So the bottom 1/4 of the picture went bye-bye.
Oh yeah, I also added a slight burnt orange color to the main light to make the picture overall warmer.
Thanks again for all the wonderful advice and I hope everyone thinks the finished render is at least a little better.

Vast improvement. Looks great. Still uncomfortable with the knee being a full ninety degrees to the hip . . . but it's not MY knee . . . :D

Dramatic improvement on the background and leg! Being that I'm an x-ray tech and used to looking at bones and anatomical alignments, the leg/ hip relationship still bothers me somewhat as well...but maybe I'm nit-picking. Gorgeous image nonetheless, you're hardwork certainly paid off!

Beautiful! Love her legs and skin tone. Face is also very pretty. A very natural pose, hard to do in that position.
