To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather

Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

This is very impressive. The horses have a ghost like quality to them which fits the story very well. Having been in a calm while sailing, I can tell you I would have given anything to have one of those horses give us a tow. I am sick over the animal fur issues. I don't understand a mind that would purchase such an item if it were not a matter of survival. The cruelty part is unpardonable in my mind. Thanks for passing this information on, Mina. Hugs, x:|

Yuck anyone that kills animals for fashion has lost the plot, good for you on mentioning it, the only way to change peoples attitudes to to scream it loud and clear, wonderful story about the Horses as I live in Australia its great to know something extra about the place, :) Angela

As you well know, I'm also apposed to cruelty in all forms to the flora and fauna of the earth. Equally appalling is that the dogma of some religions tend to support that exploitation and cruelty. John Lennon had it right with his vision of a world without religion. This image of the horse latitudes also brings to mind a story by Celestial Navigations some years ago. Well done dear Mina. Hugs! *****

Beautiful image, and the words are very meaningful. I never liked fur as clothing anyway, thought it was ugly, not to mention, as you said, cruel! Horses are one of the most beautiful and majestic creatures on this ever polluted planet. Your image and words do them and all defenseless animals a huge justice. You should rant! These days, that's the only time anything gets done. Beautiful work, Sweet Mina. You truly have a gentle(yet darkling) soul. Scott

I invite the members to visit This Link too!!! As you wrote:""Cowardice asks the question, Is it safe? Experience asks the question , Is it politic? Vanity asks the question, Is it popular? But conscience asks the question, Is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because his conscience tells him that it is right." ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Oh Mina .. what a gorgeous scene you have created! And the information is wonderful, I did not this .. I knew that there are spots on the ocean sailors used to fear because they would get stranded, no wind to drive the boats, but didn't know about the horse latitudes. Not too long ago there was a photo in the paper of what was called "racoon dogs", wild dogs in I believe China, and hunted to near extinction in Japan. These are hunted and killed in China for their fur which is used as trim on coats, as on cuffs and hoods. As you said, they are wrongly represented as either rabbit, or artificial fur. There was a rather extensive article in our paper, and I believe on one of the news channels, but I don't remember which one. Many famous/designer brand name manufacturere rushed to remove clothing from stores that were made in China that used real fur. http://www.lioncrusher.com/animal.asp?animal=25 Quite a few links if you do a search for "racoon dogs".

Amazing!!!!

A lovely image Mina. I love the horses and the colors throughout them ( I am especially partial to the one in the top right hand corner, a wild pony he looks) As I always do, I go to the consumer end of the story. Supply and demand leads to many an injustice. Wonderful work Mina!

I was so enrapt in your words I had to go back to look again at the picture! Amazing image! I love the stars peeking through their manes! I think this may be the wild herd that cruises through my unconciousness so often. If it is hold out your hand and skritch under their chins, they will give you an amazing ride to anywhere/anywhen and have you home in time for breakfast! I'll watch for you my next ride! As to your words you are preaching to the choir! I think the wearing of fur is best left to the animals it was designed for! if your own insecurities make you covet anothers skin, get therapy! Or at least buy synthetic. BJ
