Description

This image is of the top of the model box as promised. I started with the intent of just making this box cover art. But when I completed the image, it was incomplete; I felt that it looked unfinished somehow. It needed to belong in a scene of its own. So I created "Work in Progress." The model on the table is the exact model on the box only a little deconstructed. The credits are the same as "Work in Progress." Enjoy.

"all polygon - easy to assemble" love it! Showing my age here ... had one of the plastic kits and when I finished it ... it was "finished" LOL!!! Great bit of modeling and rendering.

WOW!!! The Convair Space Base! I love it! I've also the plastic model kit of it! As you perhaps know, in my Renderosity store I sell the 3d mesh of the Krafft Ehricke Convair Manned Interplanetary Vehicle, the perfect companion to your artwork! Just added it to my preferred!

That is a beautiful match of the illustration style of the time. I'm glad you didn't "update" it (particularly the planet) The lighting and modeling are outstanding. Krafft Ehricke is a personal hero of mine- I wish some of his designs had actually been produced.
