Description

Acrylic on 8 x 10" canvas. Wanting to practice perspective (as my command of this is quite lame), I painted this sitting in my usual spot on the lounge room floor and looked out the door. The only things I changed in the image is the size of the bust (he is about half that size, but would have been lost had I painted him to scale), removed the fish tank from where the vase of flowers are (I didn't cherish the thought of trying to paint one so tiny) and took off the front screen door so the scene outside is more easily seen. Thanks for viewing and your thoughts are always appreciated. :)

great drawing, dont bother too much getting perspective right as it can hamper creativity.

I like the way the light is streaming in the door makes it feel very warm outside, makes me want to be out not sat here waiting for the night to close in, The perspective looks fine, not sure I feel like Im sat on the floor perhaps standing ready to step out.

A scene outside a scene. Beautiful painting. You did a wonderful job on perspective. I feel like I'm there looking out on that lovely garden. Maybe wishful thinking from my winter chair...almost spring. I also like the light and shadow work very much, as well as the glass treatment.

What an exceptionally beautiful image. It almost seems like a dream world inviting the viewer inside - and then outside. I really like it.

Hi Cassie, its funny how your pictures manage to bring on a smile. I don't even know why, but I found myself grinning when looking at it. Its simple but impressive and somehow very meaningful. Thanks for letting us into your lounge (why is your usual spot "on the lounge room floor" I wonder?) (Hic.....hic!) Regards Anthony
