Description

This is another Mojo FG that Ive been playing with & using some of my older materials to create the overall effect that I wanted to try & achieve. Although my post working (trees shrubs flags etc) needs to drastically improve. Thx to Ryan(Efflux) for the base concept for this FG. TFV&C W

I will add again that the method for creating this terrain is widely available in the Mojoworld forums http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2595821&page=1

I think it's a great result so far - please keep going, this is an exciting direction to explore. Crits & Suggestions? On the postwork your problem is colour. The colours you're using for the flags and shrubs are too much 'out of the box' - they don't reflect how the lighting in the scene would change them. How about doing a seperate reference render with some random objects scattered in the scene - A few spheres, cubes, pyramids and cones with the base colours you want to use applied to them. So in this case, some red, some shrubbery-green. When that render is finished, have it alongside the render you wnat to do postwork on, and pick the colours from your reference render - you should then have a good range of light and shadow for those colours under the same lighting conditions.

Whoa!!...That is one Excellent terrain to start playing with in postwork!!...Cool FG'ing Woz!!.....I think you've done a great job in the placement of the shrubbery/flags though I agree with Peejay on the color...his tip for a "reference render" sounds good advice (I've never tried that but I will now)....Also when in postwork mode the Dodge & Burn tool can be very usefull for suggesting light/shadow (I'm thinking of the red/blue flags)....with this planet you have a great canvas for some imaginative postwork....keep experimenting mate!...I'd like to see more!!

I thought this looked familiar when I first saw it. Cool work. Glad to see someone exploring these things. One day maybe I'll get back to Mojo but I'm kind of sick of computers and lack the time. I've got a 1960s valve reel to reel tape machine coming for my music production despite the fact that I have endless digital multitrack power at my fingertips. I kind of feel a bit the same way about graphics as far as computers are concerned. It's easier to paint or draw but no doubt I will get back to number crunching.
