Description

Don't ask me what this is... All I can say is do not mix alcohol with Poser or Paint Shop Pro cuz you may not know what you'll end up with. I don't know how or why I chose to go with this kind of image/texture/whatever... It seemed to be a good idea at the time... I know that I had a render sitting in my backed up folder that didn't have any hair so I pulled it out and went with it. I honestly couldn't tell you what I used to make this one because it was rendered so long ago... As a side note... I'm a purple freak so if I seem to have alot of it in my gallery... DEAL WITH IT! Hehe I'm just kidding :P But I do enjoy this particular color and will do many images with it. ~~*EDIT*~~ OK I darkened the background and now I get the feeling from it like one of those older style photos where they fade out all the background to black and all you see is the face, kinda romantic in a way... TY for looking and comment if you'd like! :)

Critique Group: Inteesting Papaer effect in the final render, makes it seem more like a charcoal drawing than a poser render. While this isn'e exactly my cup of tea, from a technical and artistic standpoint it is very good. I'd have liked to see more detail in the hair(but this is just an opinion), but other than that it is a very fine piece of work. You have enormous talent, so Do keep sharing it with us. DPH

interesting image. i would also like some more detail in the hair, and i would like it to be a slightly different colour to the background to differentiate (sp):) with the background

Nicely done. I like the effect of the postwork. I also think that some more detail in the hair or changing its colour would make it stand out a bit more from the background.

CG Ha! I DO know the feeling of mixing Poser & alcohol! Crazy, isn't it! HA! Aside from that, I love the color! The "airbrush" effect is very cool too. I think the only real "critique" I would offer is the shape of her hair on the top. A little heart shaped an odd to me. Overall, I like the look and feel of this style despite the alchol! think this piece would go wonderfully with a nice glass of merlot!!! :)~

Overall this is a fine piece. The tones you chose to use on the woman work. It gives it an antiqued look from eras gone by. I particularly like the canvas texture which you applied. It gives the image some depth that might otherwise have been lacking. The hair however doesn't do it for me: not much detail in it and it doesn't seem to fit the figure in either style or size. I think she might look better on a darker background. I understand your love of the colour purple, but in this case a black background might have been a better choice to set off the image.

A nice piece, & I like the colour ;-) purple is my favourite too. Technical Notes ___ The expression is a little flat, but I guess if this is an old render, it is all you had to work with. I also agree with the others on the hair, needs a lot more detail, I like the highlights though.

Nice portrait overall, bit dark tho that could be my monitor. :) Postwork is not a strongpoint of mine, so I tend to admire people who do it well.

The tint is great on this, as it the paper texture. The hair looks more like you were trying for a Tudor style headdress to frame her face. The kind Katherine or Jane wore, not Anne Boleyn.

I like the effect; this could be a portrait from anything in the last 200 years. I would have preferred to see her with some more life to her expression. Purple is my favourite colour too, so I like that :-)

It sure looks like an old photo...there is some issue right above the lip which could be blended out in post...well done

Saving and retouching old renders is valid and should be encouraged! No appologies required. This is a very good image and good to be seen rather than to sit in a backup folder in its previous unglorified state. Cheers!
