Description

Foresters in the service of Baron Alvys Deleigh, look after this sprawling woodland. The early tree blossoms, as the thaw reaches its conclusion, rival even the whin found on the other side of the lough. Whichever wins the race is used to dye the Paschal Feast goose eggs, decorated by the first-born children and duly presented to the winners of the Thanksgiving Ceilidh, held in the Baronial Hall.
