Description

My entry to the Bryce challenge.
First Place
Here, one vacuum tube still holds it's light while the others are burned out or discarded. Vacuum tubes are making a small comeback with audio enthusiasts--you can buy computer audio cards with them built in. All around these tubes are the inexpensive and nameless transistors (as well as capacitors, resisters.. the transistors are the black ones) which replaced the tube. But in my opinion, they are without character, without mystery or wonderment. Just mass produced items. This render differs from the last in which I was trying to show their insides a bit more. Bryce 6.1, Solidworks models. HDRI.

Another nice render. Check out the vintage electronics section of eBay if you want some idea of how popular old school vacuum tube technology has become. Also a good place for ideas and reference images. :)

someone once told me that analog gear emphasizes the even harmonics, and digital the odd ones (but that was back in the 80s..;) Used to replace the odd 6L6 from time to time..;)
