Description

Rendered in Poser 6, postworked in Photoshop I was attempting to capture the attraction of opposites. Notes The female's pose is not lowered on her haunches, that is deliberate as she is rising to the sunlight. Had some trouble with my facial expressions (on David), that's supposed to be awe, sadly, I think I may have ended up with stupefaction. Final Image thumb_1418348.jpg

Glorious, a really nice soft glow around her face. I think the Moon's expression is all right, although if it was me I'd probably bring the inner eyebrows up a bit to add a little questioning look. The Sun's leg around the knee seems to clip into the floor matt a little bit, which you might correct with a little magnet touch to dimple the matt, or just pull the knee/shin down a little bit by postwork (liquefy). Also you might turn on Ambient Occlusion for the floor matt to draw a little shadow from the spots where the characters touch the matt. Very lovely composition overall, and really nice job on the Moon's hair getting it to drape over the shoulder.

Beautifull composition! I also can see awe in the expression - personally i tend to connect awe with a "oh" position from the mouth but the eyes really reflect aweness greatly they really give you a stary feeling of awe. To me this is truly a perfect image! I also love the other character very very much. She expresses wonderfully the great contentment and inner peace she tends to experience. Your lighting is fabulous! A most wonderful, magnificent and fabulous image! P.S. Thank you for the tips on my image ! Much much much appreciated !

Heh, I was just about to mention the brows, but pjz99 beat me to it! :) Other than that little detail, this is superb. I DO see awe on his face. The lighting is perfect. SIGH. Hard to critique when the image is pretty much perfect as it is. ^_-

Maybe just the positioning of his left ring finger - looks a bit pushed back. But I think apart from that the posing and the lighting are great :)

Great work on this scene. I love the figures, their poses, textures and lighting. Just a couple of points: I think the illumination of the background looks a little flat - especially the plant pots, which do not quite seem connected with the floor. I wonder if a negative shadowless point light in the pot would make it connect. I would also be inclined to darken all the background slightly so that the figures stand out even more. Finally I would add a bit of post work softness and halo in front of her face so that it looks like the light is coming from her face.

:) to previous comments I only add that girl's pose, her expression and highlights on her face work fantastic together. She looks really beautiful and natural. I also like the way warm hues and moon colors divide the space of this pic. Nice idea!

Very nice picture! I like it a lot. I agree with said above regarding ligting and posing. So now I know where your avatar is coming from! A test render for a study for this picture, maybe? If it is, I see that you changed the hair. Personally, I would prefer as you have it in the avatar, a little more wild.

Excellent image! I agree with all the above and would like to add that I think the body markings on the "moon" add extra interest for the eye. I find the floor area outside of the main character zone a little..."flat"? Also, I feel that a fraction more light on the hair of the "sun" would be good. I only just noticed she has a long plait/ponytail. The contrast in the lighting colours between the elements in the scene is excellent and I think the poses work very well indeed. Well done!

More light to her face would be good and less light to the background would be good. I agree with Rutra's comment about the hair. Some sun-earrings might have been a better choice for her than what you picked, but those are just quibbles on a marvelous image. The skin-marks on Moon are absolutely genious! High marks for that! WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO! Great image!

I think the expression on sun is great, same with the pose and the lighting. The moon i, at first, though to be a girl. Not sure if thats your intention but his face looks a bit femenin, might be the blond hair with the makeup. Either way i think its a really cool idea and it looks good, some minor post work on her skin would make her look a bit less edgy around the hips but its nothing big.

Very nice. Looks a bit flat though and it took me a minute to figure out why. No shadows. That would help. If you want to go a bit more magical, make the tattoos on the guy glow brightly. Probably have to be done in Photoshop but it'd be cool. Maybe like she's absorbing his energy or something.

Very magical scene, I also like the difference in colours, very effective. However I so agree with Zorares, I alsoo thought it a bit flat, maybe a bit more contrast to bring the colours more.

I realize the man is supposed to have an effeminate quality to him, however, I could not recognize it at first as a male at all, and wondered did someone actually make a flatchested v3? LOL. Perhaps he's just a hair "too" much toward the female. It could be the makeup and markings, I'm not quite sure.

Actually, there is a way to get tatoos to glow, there is a tutorial in here somewhere about it. Basically you just need to use a reflection map and use a mask node which is white where the tatoos are and black otherwise. Quite a nice piece of work, I like the look he is giving her.

Lovely and sublime expression on this beautiful lady's face. I like the handsome, yet monsterous fellow...they do make an excellent contrast. His one had needs better posing but beautifully done.

I agree with some of the comments that shadows would give it just a bit more depth. But The poses are wonderful!

If the two were bathed in the same warm light and with enhanced the overall tone, you might have a classic Boris style oil painting. I know Moon and Sun evoke different lighting effects (which you show here, and are also very good) but sometimes the image transcends its own subject matter. Either way, this is a very good piece of work and it compelled me to comment. Cheers!
