Description

This is a prequel to my last post. Note: When I got the idea for this iceberg scene I thought it was going to be real easy to do... just a bunch of white rocks... , but I had a really hard time matching all the textures and lighting to make it look not so awful, and I'm still not satisfied with it. Some scenes are just harder to do than they look... oh well. I guess I bit off more than I could chew. Bryce 6.1, Warraok Kitt from Daz, and a bit of Paint shop Pro 9.

HA! First one. The ocean looks excellent, that water looks oh so real. It really truly looks fantastic, and the ice does not look all that bad either. Better than a lot of others that I have seen. Overall, damn fine work.

I think this came out spectacularly well. It has a very crisp, hyper-realistic feel to it, but also a sense of tranquility - reminds me a little of Caspar David Friedrich. Why beat yourself up trying to manipulate a piece of software into re-creating your mental image of the real world? Rather than biting off more than you could chew, I'd say you cooked up something better than your original recipe...

You don't get better without taking risks. This is fantastic. The rocks are excellent. If there is something missing, then I just can not put my finger on it. Very convincing piece. Bravo

This arctic motif is fast becoming my favorite. The texture work is simply wonderful as is the composition overall. Very nice work - AGAIN!

Looks good but I think one might see foam and turbulence on each of the floating icesheets and especially around the iceburgs. A little post work would help with that.

I have to say the quality of this image and render is almost equal to professional production classics such as Ice Age and Happy Feet. Quite briliant. Onto my favourites list.
