Description
A friend of mine through this site asked me for some ideas about a morph of her own face. We talked about it a bit, and this is what came about. I'm told it's a reasonably good likeness. If you read the Poser forum, you may recognize her.
Mystery Girl, 100% home grown human, is V4, with the DAZ Emma materials by Maelwenn, wearing another masterpiece by Aery_Soul, Jolie Fille hair, spirited but behaving itself.
Clumsily postworked by me to give the eyebrow a little depth, to smooth some very few poly corners in the hair, to soften the lipstick a bit, some nose glow, and to make the eye surface a little more natural-looking. Lighting is two spots on her face, and one pointed at the backdrop to brighten it up. AO is coming from the main light.

Excellent portrait and the eyebrows and lips look good. You might want to highlight the eyeballs a touch though, they look a bit dark. If you have photoshop try going over them. Use the dodge tool with the 'fuzzy looking' round brush at about size 20. Select highlights and strength about 20%. Just go over the whole eyeball until it lightens up. Then, use the sharpen tool with the same brush. Select normal and strength about 10% and go over them again. It should make the eyes stand out considerably.

I would probably use a different eye material entirely when I go at this for a revision, I suspect the included eye mat doesn't quite fit the geometry (seems the iris slips out of position). Thanks for the tips, I'll try to apply that on next try.

I don't know who it is, but my first thought when I saw the thumbnail was "Whoah, a poser morph that looks like a normal person!" Consider that a big compliment ;)

My only critique, maybe added a bit of flesh color to the whites of the eyes, they are, I think, to grey and muddy. The flesh color would be refracting or bouncing up onto her eyes, maybe bring up the contrast of the eyes all together. Otherwise, a great image.

What an amazing portrait! This is really extremely realistic. Her skin, her eyes, her hair. And, to tell you the truth, I dont see any of those things that lemur01 and kenernest63, for me it's just fantastic (but then again, I'm not much of an expert in portraits).

Really lovely portrait. It all works for me...except the eyes - although I can't say exactly what the problem with the eyes is. They just look a little disconnected from the fabulous skin. It might be that they are a little bit blurry whereas the skin is really sharp and in-focus. I have seen something similar with many of the V4 character/texture packages and I think it is one of the few things that lets V4 down a bit. A small criticism is that the material on the shoulder looks a bit artificial - I think it could do with a fabric texture.

A beautiful portrait of a beautiful woman. As said before, what a treat it is to see Vik look like a REAL person for a change! While I like many of the characters available for Vicky, Aiko, et al, many don't really look real. I'm not sure why. I look and know, no matter how well rendered, that it's not real. A bit more work and we won't be able to tell jjroland and your custom morph apart! Please continue! :)

Fantastic morp. I think she is perfect like she is now. About highlighting her eyes white. Hm...the human eye whithe is a little gray too. So for my taste you can leave it like this is.

fantastic, beautiful morph. and i think the lighting and composition make it a great portrait. if i had any advice about her face, it would be to make her face a little less symmetrical. her eyes look off, but since i've seen about 2 images where i thought v4's eyes looked ok and realistic, i've got no advice on how to fix them other than postwork. i know that what i see in real life that she lacks is shadows as well as highlights in the iris. her lips are shaded like metal or satin. i think they could be a bit more matte and less pink in coloring for this image, which seems so beautifully simple and unadorned. the rest of her face looks very purely free of makeup, so what looks like heavy lipstick to me seems out of place. the green background was a perfect choice; it contrasts with the red-brown of her hair and induces more pink in her skin. piece of white clothing visible actually detracts from the realism her skin and the background establish, partly due to texture and partly due to its stiffness. this could be addressed with improved fabric materials and the cloth room and/or postwork, but i also think the image would look great if it wasn't there at all. i like this character more than just about every v4 i've seen so far. she has a great deal of character, and you've portrayed her with an almost dramatic simplicity. she is ordinary and dignified. this is a wonderful instance of the everyday made sublime. kudos!

Yeah the eyes and lipstick are problematic. I'll work on a revision tomorrow and try some different materials. I'll agree that the top doesn't really add anything as well. Thanks all for the wonderful feedback so far, much appreciated.

Damn this is good! I don't really have much to add to what's already been said but I think the material across the left shoulder is the one thing in this render that doesn't look realistic to me. I think it doesn't do justice to what is otherwise an excellent job. Fantastic effort though, really great!

Thats gota be the best, most realistic nose on a daz figure I've seen in my entire life. And considering the pinched pencil thin fragile abundance of the fairey nose look ..... thats saying a WHOLE lot. You have talent galore to get that out of a daz figure nose, v4 or ANY figure. Kudos. Am i aschewing the rest of the picture for a nose? YOu bet...... let me bask in the brilliant glory of a so rarely done actual nose........ ::majestic music plays, angels sing...... the sky opens up...... so on so fourth::

Very nice portrait and good morphing. :) After a quick glance there r some things that could be changed if there will be an rev: DOF needs to be adjusted, reflections, gel light & IBL (max 3 lights. 1 IBL, 1 Inf., 1 spot) to get rid of that makeup look on the upper half and chin region of her face, adjusting the bump on her neck/chest, iris mat shaders, ears mats, different hair or dyn. hair, shadow bias towards 0, refraction for lacrimal fluid, hair ambience color. Escaping lines would req. that she's positioned about 1/8 to 1/7 more to the right side. Or head (& lights) turned left approx. 3 I guess. If you also add her number and email it will be very appreciated. g
